MAHRP hosts HR Excellence Awards 2023 edition

On Wednesday, the Maldives Association of HR Professionals (MAHRP) hosted the MAHRP HR Excellence Awards 2023.

President of Public Policy Nazim Ibrahim officiated the awards event as Chief Guest. This year’s awards ceremony was held at Villa College QI Campus.

The 2023 edition featured three Individual Awards categories and seven Organizational Awards that cover areas of People Development, Innovation and Excellence, Wellness and Well-being, Organizational Culture, Technology, and Growth.

MAHRP Awards Winners – Individual

  • Outstanding HR Leader of the Year – Ahmed Asbaab, Aminath Shaly, Ibrahim Shaheem
  • Emerging HR Leaders – Aminath Irasha, Ali Shaukath
  • Excellence in Women HR Leadership Award – Dr. Fathmath Muna, Annepaul Vemagiri, and Aminath Shaly

Multiple winners in the Individual Awards categories received recognition for their exceptional performance. For the Outstanding HR Leader of the Year and Excellence in Women HR Leadership Award, three winners were chosen in each category. In comparison, two winners were selected in the Emerging HR Leaders categories.

MAHRP Award Winners – Organization

  • Excellence in HR Innovation – The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort
  • Excellence in Workplace Culture – Total Transport Solutions Maldives (TTM) Pvt Ltd
  • Excellence in Talent Development – Constance Moofushi Maldives
  • Excellence in Employee Wellness & Well-Being – State Trading Organization (STO)
  • Excellence in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) – Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC)
  • Excellence in HR Tech – Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC)
  • Most People Focused Leader – Donbez Private Limited

While speaking at the awards ceremony, MAHRP President Ahmed Ibrahim said the awards recognize industry excellence, special contributions, and best practices while promoting and encouraging corporations and HR professionals to adopt a corporate culture of professional development and evolution.

The judges of the HR Excellence Awards received memorial plaques, acknowledging their contributions and ensuring the event’s successful execution.

The Chief Guest, Nazim Ibrahim, spoke about the importance of best practices in human resource development. He stressed the role of HR professionals or departments in the capacity development of employees.

“The key to success is enhancing the professional development of the human assets. One of the more affluential business leaders in the world, Laurent Bosetti had once said that he does not believe there is anything that supersedes human capacity development,” Nazim said.

According to Nazim, Bosetti’s statement gains further validation from the extensive research conducted in the field.

MAHRP is a non-profit organization that promotes activities and initiatives that add value to the Human Resources Professional Network in the Maldives.
