The national carrier Maldivian resumed operations to the Kooddoo Airport on Tuesday, after the GA. Atoll airport underwent renovations to repair its runway.
Maldivian had suspended operations to Kooddoo on October 11. The airline said it made the decision after two of its aircrafts had to be grounded due to the poor state of the airport’s runway and apron.
A spokesperson from Maldivian told Sun that the airline resumed its Koodoo operation on Tuesday.
But it is starting off with two weekly flights.
“Yes, we have resumed flights. We have two weekly flights at the moment. But we will resume normal operations soon,” said the spokesperson.
Kooddoo Airport was constructed by Bonavista Maldives and opened in 2012. It was later renovated by Pristine Island Investment and reopened in 2017.
