Expat hospitalized following assault in Hulhumale’

An expatriate has been hospitalized after he was injured in an assault in Hulhumale’ on early Saturday.

The incident was reported to the police at around 03:50 pm on Saturday.

A police spokesperson said that the victim, identified only as a male expatriate, was taken to the Hulhumale’ Hospital for treatment.

A spokesperson from the Hulhumale’ Hospital told Sun that the patient sustained head injuries in the incident.

He was transferred to the Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in the morning for a consult with a neuro surgeon.

IGMH was not immediately available for comment.

Meanwhile, the police said they are investigating the case but have yet to make an arrest.
