Probe launched into hacking of Lh. Atoll Hospital’s server

Maldives Pollice Service has launched an investigation into the hacking of Lh. Atoll Hospital’s server.

Speaking with Sun regarding the issue on Monday night, Lh. Atoll Hospital said the hospital’s server has been accessed and hacked as a result of which the system used to manage patients’ information and the file is completely down.

The hospital said it has been a couple of days since the issue came to light, adding that the hack was revealed when service boards and other equipment were shut down on Friday evening.

There is no suspect in the hacking so far, the hospital added.

Police, in a message to the media, said they received a report of the hacking of Lh. Atoll Hospital’s server following which a special team has been dispatched to the island from Male’ to investigate the case.
