The National Counter-Terrorism Center (NCTC) has partnered with the Maldives National University (MNU) to conduct academic studies.

According to Shehenaz, one of the goals of the MoU is to conduct strategic studies on science and social affairs, as well as peace and security.

She said the MoU also covers joint conferences, seminars and symposiums to address the issues in the fields of research, and teaching related modules.

She said that it also covers sharing information and data printing reference resources.

Shehenaz said she hopes the training and studies carried out through the partnership between MNU and NCTC will enhance knowledge on social affairs and peace and security.

“I thank NCTC for taking the initiative to conduct joint academic studies, facilitate higher education opportunities, and for trusting the MNU,” she said.

Earlier this month, the MNU signed an agreement with the State Electric Company (STELCO) to conduct a study into a hike in electricity bills.
