18-year-old girl found dead at MNU hostel in Male’

An 18-year-old girl was found dead on early Tuesday at the Majudhudheen Dhanaal, the Maldives National University (MNU)’s hostel in Male’.

Police and Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) were seen operating at the hostel at around 02:30 am.

Police identified the deceased as an 18-year-old female student, but declined to disclose any details.

The police said they were investigating the death.

MNU’s Majudhudheen Dhanaal houses a large number of students, many of them from islands outside the capital.
