MNU publishes proceedings of ICEST 2023

The Maldives National University (MNU) has published online the proceedings of the International Conference on Innovations in Engineering, Science, and Technology for Sustainable Development (ICEST) 2023.

ICEST 2023 was held in Male’ from November 15-17 2023.

Organized and supported by Maldives National University (MNU), the international conference brought together leading experts to share and discuss innovations in engineering, science, and technology with a focus on sustainable development.

In a statement on Friday, the national university announced that the proceedings of the conference are now available online.

ICEST 2023 received 86 submissions - reflecting the high level of interest and engagement in the field. Of the submissions, 78 papers passed the rigorous double-blind review process, ensuring the highest quality of research.

The conference also featured 60 presentations. According to the MNU, 34 of the presentations were by staff and students from the university’s Faculty of Engineering, Science and Technology, showcasing the significant contributions of the local academic community.

35 out of 38 manuscripts submitted to the publisher were accepted for publication, highlighting the high standard of research presented at the conference.

Researchers and participants can now access the published volume on the AIP publishing platform.

MNU said that 19 of the 35 published papers are authored by the university’s staff and students, underscoring the university’s commitment to advancing research and innovation.

The university took the opportunity to thank Vice Chancellor Dr. Aishath Shehenaz Adam and Deputy Vice Chancellor Dr. Raheema Abdul Raheem for their invaluable support and guidance.

“Their trust in approving the conference and their unwavering support throughout the process have been crucial to the success of ICEST2023. Their contributions have significantly contributed to making this conference a notable achievement,” said the MNU in its statement.

The MNU said that the success of ICEST 2023 is a testament to the collective efforts of all involved and reflects the high caliber of research and innovation in the Maldivian community.

It congratulated everyone who contributed to making the conference a success.
