Maldives Development Alliance (MDA) on Wednesday held a meeting to discuss increasing the party's strength and membership.

The party's Policy and Development Council held a meeting on Wednesday, the first since its new members were elected.

The meeting was chaired by MDA Deputy President and Spokesperson and current Velidhoo MP Mohamed Abbas.

"We mainly discussed on making efforts to strengthen the party in terms of its members and activities," Abbas said.

Wednesday's MDA council meeting is part of ongoing efforts by the party to improve its administration. The party is currently attempting to grow its size as well.

Along with Abbas, the party's founder and leader Ahmed Siyam Mohamed holds a seat in the 20th parliament assembly. Siyam represents Meedhoo constituency.

With efforts underway to strengthen MDA, the party recently held its national congress as well.
