Foreign Minister concludes Qatar visit

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Moosa Zameer has concluded his recent official visit to Qatar from May 11th to 13th.

The minister's visit aimed to enhance Maldives-Qatar bilateral ties, the ministry said on Tuesday.

During his visit, Zameer paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

At their meeting, the two reviewed existing relationship between the two countries. They also explored avenues for further cooperation as well.

Zameer expressed confidence in deeper cooperation and the "forging of diplomatic ties in the days ahead", said the Foreign Ministry in its statement.

The Maldives Foreign Minister was accompanied by Secretary, Bilateral, Dr. Hala Hameed, Ambassador-at-Large Dr. Fazeel Najeeb, and Assistant Director of the ministry Lamha Saleem during his visit to Qatar.
