Minister Zameer departs for Qatar

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Moosa Zameer on Saturday, has departed for Qatar on an official visit.

During his official visit to Qatar from May 11 to 13, 2024, the minister is expected to engage in high-level discussion with the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.

The two countries will explore avenues for futher strengthening the longstanding bilateral relations between the Maldives and Qatar.

This year will mark the 40th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic union between the two nations.

Besides this, Zameer is also scheduled to meet with other senior officials from the Qatari government to explore opportunities to enhance cooperation in various sectors.

During his official visit, the minister is accompanied by Dr. Hala Hameed, the Secretary, Bilateral of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Dr. Fazeel Najeeb, the Ambassador-at-Large; and Lamha Saleem, the Assistant Director of the ministry.

While Minister Zameer has departed to Qatar, he recently concluded his official visit to India where he met with the country's External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar to discuss on a wide range of topics.
