Financial statements shared by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu show he spent MVR 2 million on his presidential campaign.
Financial statements shared with Elections Commission (EC) show President Muizzu received MVR 2,115,000 in campaign donations. The records show he did not spend anything out of his own pockets.
The campaign proceedings and equipment he received total MVR 21,344,367.
He spent MVR 100,450 on personal expenses related to the campaign, and MVR 1,899,000 garnering support.
The statements show he spent MVR 1,999,450, thereby saving MVR 115,000 from the donations he received.
