Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)’s interim leader, former president Ibrahim Mohamed Solih met with members of MDP’s parliamentary group on Wednesday, amid calls against giving approval to some of the members of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s cabinet.
The meeting took place after Wednesday’s parliamentary sitting.
MDP’s spokesperson Anas Abdul Sattar told Sun that Solih held the meeting with the parliamentary group in his capacity as the party’s leader to discuss the current developments at the Parliament.
He declined to disclose details.
The meeting comes as parliamentarians from the MDP – which holds a majority at the Parliament – called for lawmakers to vote against granting approval to some of the government ministers appointed to the cabinet.
