MDP activist Shamin arrested over Aug 28 protest

An opposition activist was arrested for obstruction on Tuesday, in connection to a protest held by the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) last month. Mohamed Shamin was apprehended by the police and taken to the Galolhu Police Station in the afternoon. His arrest warrant shows that he is accused of obstructing the police and crossing police barricades to enter a closed off area
