MDA President and Dh. Meedhoo MP Ahmed Siyam Mohamed said today that he hopes the government of President-elect Dr Mohamed Muizzu, who will be sworn into office next Friday, will do strong and productive work to brighten the future of the youth of this country.
In his congratulatory address to the people of Maldives on the occasion of Republic Day, he extended his best wishes and congratulations to all the people of Maldives and President-elect Dr Muizzu.
Siyam said he called on the people to work hard to make the most of democracy. He said it is very important for every citizen to take personal responsibility to make sure that the country is secure.
Siyam said he hopes Muizzu's leadership will bring success and progress for this beloved country.
''I hope the newly formed government will continue to do strong and productive work to brighten the future of the youth of this country,'' Siyam said in his address.
The first republic was established in Maldives under the leadership of the late Sumuvvul Ameer Mohamed Amin Dhoshimeynaa Kilegefaanu. The present Second Republic was formed on 11 November 1968 under the leadership of the late Sumuvvul Ameer Ibrahim Nasir Ranna Bandeyri Kilegefaanuge.
