Main ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)’s presidential candidate, underscoring peace has been established across the nation during the past five years, has appealed to the public to deeply consider this while voting tomorrow.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Usfasganu area on Friday evening to conclude his presidential campaign – President Solih said the development and peace brought to the nation within the past five years should be deeply considered before voting tomorrow.

“There is no second chance. No second round. If you do not vote for number three tomorrow, we might fall to a level the whole nation might have to weep and cry. Each one of us should think deeply,” he said.

President Solih said he had met a number of people from various sectors within the last 20 days following the first round of the election on September 9th.

He detailed that discussions were held regarding addressing their concerns and needs. In this trajectory, he stressed that a “happy and peaceful” Maldives can be ensured to individuals of different sectors only if he is elected.

“I had listened to all of them. I inquired about their feelings,” he added.

He pledged to implement all positive changes that can be enforced instantly for all those sectors, noting efforts had already been commenced to draw up policies to find permanent solutions for all sectors.

Voting in the runoff round of the presidential election will begin at 8:00am tomorrow morning, and proceed till 5:00pm. Both candidates contesting the runoff held separate rallies in Male’ City this evening to mark the conclusion of their campaign.
