Police review CCTV footage from Male’ in search for missing Mathiveri man

Police state they have reviewed footage from CCTV cameras in some of the areas of Male’ City in the search for an elderly man reported missing from AA. Mathiveri.

Hassan Ali (Mathiveree Hassanfulhu), 73, Riveli, AA. Mathiveri, was reported missing on February 1. He was last seen on January 31.

In a statement Tuesday, police said they had expanded their search and reviewed CCTV footage from some of the areas of Male’ City based on new information.

Police said they had also searched all houses, including uninhabited houses, as well as guesthouses and the beach areas in Mathiveri in their search for Hassan.

Investigators have also reviewed 157 hours of CCTV footage from areas throughout the island and questioned multiple persons, said the police.

He was last caught on CCTV exiting a shop in Mathiveri around 09:30 pm on January 31.

Police said they were providing regular updates to the family.
