Island Aviation says that, with the introduction of these two aircraft into their fleet, the technical delays that customers face now will stop. They also say that as these two are new aircrafts, the expense of maintaining the existing aircrafts will also decrease exponentially.

Maldivian’s parent company, Island Aviation have said that they are working to bring an ATR 42-600, along with the two ATR 72-600. Island Aviation has previously stated that the total investment cost of all three aircraft add up to MVR 863.5 million (USD 56 million).
