Police: Vehicles parked in the way of buses will be towed

Maldives Police Service warned vehicles that are parked illegally and in the way of the minibuses on Male’ City roads will be towed.

Raajje Transport Link (RTL) operated by Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) commence minibus services for Male’ City on Monday.

In preparation for this, the main road of the city, Majeedhee Magu has been declared a no-parking road.

Moreover, bus stops have been made in some other areas, and parking in these areas is banned as well.

Addressing this, Police stated that violation stickers will be given to vehicles parked in the way of bus routes and other banned areas. They also added that if necessary, vehicles may be towed as well.

Minibuses will be operating daily from 05:45 to 0:15. The buses ill be on three routes, namely Ameenee route, Soasan route, and Orchid route. All in all, there are 40 bus stops. Buses will be stopping at each stop once every 10 to 15 minutes.

A total of 18 buses will be operating in Male’, out of which eight have ramps and wheelchair access.
