CP meets family of Sergeant Adam Haleem killed 14 years ago in Kaashidhoo

Commissioner of Police Ahmed Mohamed met with the family of late Sergeant Adam Haleem on Sunday, 14 years after the officer was killed in K. Kaashidhoo.

During his visit to Kaashidhoo, the Commissioner met with the late Sergeant Adam Haleem’s family members to check on their well-being and spend time with them.

During the meeting, the Commissioner said that although more than 14 years have passed since Sergeant Adam Haleem made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, his service to the nation will remain remembered within the police institution.

He further emphasised that, despite the passage of time, remembering officers who lost their lives in national service and maintaining close relations with their families remain priorities for the institution.

Sergeant Adam Haleem served the Maldives Police Service for seven years, five months, and 27 days, providing valuable service during his tenure. He served in Raa Atoll, Baa Atoll, and Kaafu Atoll.

Sergeant Adam Haleem was fatally stabbed on July 23, 2012, while on duty in Kaashidhoo, when he attempted to stop an individual who was violating a house arrest order.

The Criminal Court has, for the second time, found Mohamed Samah of Suvaasaage, Kaashidhoo, guilty of Sergeant Adam Haleem’s murder. Following a retrial, the court sentenced Samah to death last April. The verdict has since been appealed by the defendant at the High Court.
