President Solih inspects picnic island development at Kudagiri

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on Thursday, visited the K. Kudagiri to inspect the picnic island development underway at the site for residents in Male’ region.

In assessing the project’s progress – President Solih President inspected the development of the arrival jetty, reception area, mosque, powerhouse, and accommodation block. He also visited the "Camp Island" development site and inquired about the progress.

During this trip, he was accompanied by Vice President Faisal Naseem and senior officials from the government and state-owned enterprises (SOEs).

The land reclamation for the project was undertaken by Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), while the rest of the facilities are being developed jointly by five SOEs under Corporate Social Responsibility.

In this regard, the mosque at Kudagiri was built by Fenaka Corporation Limited whilst the electricity network on the island was laid out by State Electric Company Limited (STELCO).
