The Health Protection Agency (HPA) on Wednesday urged to take caution as the number of dengue cases increases.

According to the agency’s statistics, in March a total of 26 people contracted the disease, but by the end of April, 92 people had the disease.

Moreover, HPA reported that compared to the same period last year, a greater number of people have reported contracting the disease.

In addition to this, compared to the first three months, the number of cases in April has increased.

Preventative measures against dengue include preventing mosquito bites. Wearing clothes with more coverage and using mosquito repellants can aid in this. Furthermore, preventing the breeding of the insect by getting rid of any small standing water bodies can reduce the mosquito population.
