17-year-old Muli girl dies from dengue

A 17-year-old girl has died while undergoing treatment for dengue.

Sun has learned the deceased girl was from M. Muli. The island’s hospital has confirmed that she passed away while receiving medical care for dengue.

The 'Kashunamaadhu' page, which provides information on funerals, reported that she died late Thursday night. Her funeral prayer was held this afternoon, after the Friday prayer.

Further details regarding her death have not yet been disclosed.

Notably, another death linked to dengue was recorded April 13^th, where a 23-year-old male from Sh. Milandhoo succumbed to the illness after his condition worsened.

As the number of reported dengue cases continues to increase significantly, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has called on the public to remain cautious and implement appropriate preventive measures.
