May 2, Monday declared as Eid Al Fitr: tomorrow last day of Ramadan

The Ministry of Islamic Ministry declared on Saturday that the last day of Ramadan will be tomorrow and Thursday, May 02 will be the Eid Al Fitr. 

In the meeting held to determine the first day of the Hijri month of Shawwal, the Minister of Islamic Minister Dr Ahmed Zahir Ali said that the moon was not sighted in any Islamic nation as well based on trusted astrological calculations. 

Hence, as per the policy to sight the moon for the month of Shawwal and to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan, tomorrow will be the last day of Ramadan.

May 02, Thursday will be the Islamic holiday Eid Al Fitr, said the Minister in his announcement. 

Additionally, he sent greets on the occasion.  of Eid to the President, Maldivians and all Muslims across the world.
