The ‘Eid Haveeru’ organized by the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) to celebrate Eid al-Fitr is set to continue through Tuesday in the Maldivian capital.
The ‘Eid Haveeru’ kicked off on Sunday across Sultan Park, Republic Square, and the Islamic Center area of Male’ – attracting thousands of visitors who enjoyed games at the multiple stalls set up not just by the MNDF, but also by state-owned enterprises.
Families also got the chance to tour the vehicles and vessels used by the MNDF, police and other uniformed bodies and to take photos.
The MNDF has announced that the ‘Eid Haveeru’ will continue from 04:00 pm to 06:00 pm on Monday and Tuesday at the Republic Square and the marble area of the Islamic Center.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu had attended the celebrations with his family on Sunday.
According to the President’s Office, he places great importance on facilitating Muslim celebrations as part of the government’s initiatives, and believes that commemorating Islamic occasions such as Eid fosters a love for Islam among children and enhances their understanding of the religion.
