President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has affirmed his administration’s commitment to maintaining the Maldives’ esteemed reputation by upholding the teachings of Islam and the principles of the Holy Quran at the highest level.
He made the remark in his address commemorating Eid al-Fitr.
In his address, the President encouraged all citizens to celebrate Eid by spreading acts of kindness. He underscored that, according to scholars, the primary purpose of Eid is to pay homage and express gratitude to Almighty Allah for the opportunity to complete the fasting during the month of Ramadan. He added that the objectives of Ramadan involve bringing Muslims together through acts of kindness, encouraging sadaqat, sharing gifts, and offering heartfelt good wishes.
The President encouraged all citizens to keep working towards self-improvement in the coming days, as they had prayed to Almighty Allah during Ramadan. He advised everyone to ensure their actions align with the principles of Islam while celebrating Eid and in all other pursuits.
