India’s Afcons Infrastructure Limited has donated computer systems to the Hithadhoo School in Addu City.

Hithadhoo School’s principal Dr. Asiyath Mohamed Didi told Sun that Afcons donated 25 computer systems to the school on Monday.

Asiyath said that the donation had come at an opportune time, as the school had been in dire need of computer systems for some time.

“We have been in need of computer systems for a long time. We need to upgrade our computer lab,” she said.

Asiyath said that many of the computer systems in the school’s computer lab had been damaged, and that the school had submitted a proposal to the Indian High Commission seeking replacements.

“During the Indian High Commissioner’s last visit to Addu, we asked for computer systems,” she said.

Asiyath said that the donation was made by Afcons at the Indian High Commission’s behest.

Afcons is the company contracted the MVR 1.1 billion project to develop the roads of Addu – the largest such project to be conducted in the city.

The same company was also contracted to build the Thilamale’ Bridge. The company is currently conducting geotechnical surveys for the project. The bridge is expected to be complete in May 2024.
