Customs destroys a large amount of confiscated pork and alcohol

Maldives Customs Services has destroyed a large amount of pork and alcohol confiscated.  

The items were destroyed on July 10 and July 12 at Thilafushi. Customs specified the destroyed items as 300 alcohol kegs, 10,860 alcohol cans, and 458 pork cases weighing a total of 6,644.81 kilograms.

Customs stated that the items were destroyed under the policy to destroy items confiscated and stored at warehouses which deteriorate.
