STELCO: Some areas of Male' may face power outages tomorrow morning

State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has informed that some areas of Male’ will face power cuts tomorrow as the company is scheduled to carry out compulsory work in relation to the Interconnection Project.

According to STELCO, the power outage will likely take place early in the morning on Friday, between 7:00 and 9:00 hours.

“Following the completion of physical works on the Interconnection Project, the power outage is necessary in order to link the interconnections to the system existing in Male’,” said STELCO.

STELCO also noted that power will be restored as soon as the work is complete, which could be earlier than the specified timeframe.

The company also apologizes in advance for any inconvenience their customers may face tomorrow due to the power outage.

Greater Male’ Interconnection Grid project will see the interconnection of electricity between Male’, Hulhule’ and Hulhumale’.

The second phase of this project – yet to commence – will see the interconnection of electricity between Male’, Villimale’, Gulhifalhu and Thilafushi.
