COVID-19: Maldives confirms 35 new cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced 35 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 12,889.

The agency also confirmed that 36 COVID-19 patients had also made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 11,717.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 1,119 active cases.

According to HPA, the new cases tonight include 28 cases from the greater Male’ region. Three cases were identified from other inhabited islands while four were confirmed from operational resorts.

There are 95 patients in hospitals. 

1,728 samples were tested for the virus in the last 24 hours.

237,737 samples (including repeated samples) have been tested for COVID-19 to date.
