The authority detailed that the inspection included 153 locations in Malé, 83 in Hulhumalé, 59 in Villimalé, 12 in Thilafushi, and one in Gulhifalhu, accounting for construction sites, residential buildings, and vacant land plots.
HPA added that numerous potential mosquito breeding grounds were identified during the operation and as such, measures were taken to eliminate them.
There has been a sharp increase in Dengue cases this year. In March alone, 353 cases were reported, representing a substantial increase compared to the same period last year, when only 60 cases were recorded.
Tragically, the disease has claimed the lives of a 17-year-old girl and a 23-year-old man who were undergoing treatment for Dengue.
