One more patient recovers from COVID-19

National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) has announced that another patient has recovered from COVID-19 in the Maldives.

The total number of recoveries in the country currently stands at 30.

Speaking in a press conference tonight, NEOC medical officer Dr. Ibrahim Afzal stated that another patient had recovered from the virus. The doctor stated that the recovered individual is Patient 86.

Authorities have so far announced 45 cases of the virus today. 

NEOC spokesperson Mabrouq Azeez stated that 277 Maldivians and 559 foreigners have so far tested positive for the virus bringing the national total to 836. The overwhelming majority of the cases have occurred in the migrant worker community of Male' City after a community spread case was identified on April 15.

Currently, there are 756 people in isolation while more than 1500 individuals remain in quarantine, says Mabrouq. The country has so far recorded three deaths from the virus.
