Maldive Gas has signed an agreement with Gender Ministry under which it will supply cooking gas to the children’s shelters located in Hulhumale’ and Vilimale’.
The agreement was signed at Allied Insurance headquarters this Monday to celebrate Maldive Gas' 20-year anniversary.
The agreement was signed by Maldive Gas’ Deputy Managing Director Ali Ikram and Gender Minister Shidhatha Shareef.
Maldive Gas, in addition to agreeing to supply free cooking gas to the children’s shelters, has also donated MVR 10,000 worth of additional resources which it says will be useful for the shelters.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister Shidhatha said that children’s shelters were run at great cost by the state, and thanked Maldive Gas for its contribution.
She also encourages additional parties to contribute to children’s shelters.
Meanwhile, Maldive Gas’ Deputy MD Ikram reaffirmed the company’s commitment to continuing supporting children’s shelters any way it could.
Maldives has two state-run children’s shelters; the Kudakudhinge Hiya in Vilimale’, and the Fiyavathi in Hulhumale’.
