15-year-old raped in Male’ City

Maldives Police Service has launched an investigation into the rape of a 15-year-old girl in Male’ City.

A police spokesperson reported the crime took place in the midnight hours of Saturday, July 6.

Two suspects have been arrested in connection to the case; a 17-year-old male and a 22-year-old male’.

The 17-year-old suspect has been remanded to 15 days in jail, and the 22-year-old suspect has been remanded to 10 days in jail.

The case is under further investigation by the police.
