Blocks of partitions placed to divide the traffic on Hulhumale’ Highway shattered to pieces in a collision involving a pickup in the early hours of this Wednesday morning.
Maldives Police Service says the accident was reported at 4:17 am.
“The accident took place in the area where you take the U-turn on the highway. The road partitions where damaged,” said the police official.
MPS received no report of any casualty.
Multiple accidents and traffic collisions have taken place on the Hulhumale’ Highway and the Sinamale’ Bridge this week alone.
Regulations have been amended to make helmets compulsory on the Sinamale’ Bridge, Hulhumale’ Highway and the Male’ City ring road, starting from March 10, in an attempt to address the high number of accidents and traffic collisions.
