New Minister of State for Gender, Family and Social Services, Ifham Hussain

The former Managing Director of the Maldives Autism Association, Ifham Hussain, has been appointed as a Minister of State for Gender, Family and Social Services.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih presented the letter of appointment at the President’s Office today. The appointment was made under the authority of the President via Article 115-F of the constitution.

Ifham Hussain attained Masters of Education from University of Southern Queensland and also completed Bachelor’s Degree in Early childhood from University of Southern Queensland.

Moreover, Ifham Hussain received the International Award ‘Princess Haya for special education’ in May 2015 in Dubai. She also received the “Disability Award” in 2016, from Ministry of Gender and Family, under the category “professionals providing technical support to children and persons with disability”.

Ifham received the National Award (Rehendhi) in 2017, for the category of participation and contribution for women in social sector.

She was previously at the post of Managing Director at the Maldives Autism Association.
