The national airline, Maldivian, has dropped their domestic prices by 30-25 percent.
Managing Director of Island Aviation, Mohamed Rizvee confirmed their decision to drop the domestic flight prices to Sun Media..
Rizvee said that they have decided to drop the prices today by 30-25 percent after discussing with the President’s Office.

He said that the furthest destination from Male’ is Gan, Addu City which will now coat MVR 2,665 compared to the previous price of MVR 3,500. He said that the new prices will take effect on 10 January.
Rizvee said that the company aims to hold the price low through the year and will be introducing promotional fares as well.
Reducing the price of domestic flights is a campaign pledge of the President, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
