Immigration Controller Anwar resigns

Ahmed Anwar, the Controller at Department of Immigration and Emigration, has resigned from his post.

‘Sun’ has been able to confirm Anwar sent his letter of resignation to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih this Sunday.

Anwar has seen serving as Secretary-General at Male’ City Council when he was appointed Immigration Controller by former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom in January, 2015.

In addition to serving at the Immigration, Anwar also has experience with Maldives Customs Service.

Mohamed Fayaz (FA), the Deputy Leader of Jumhoory Party (JP) and former Deputy Commissioner of Police, is tipped to be the next Immigration Controller.
