17-year-old girl gang raped in Male’ City

Maldives Police Service has started investigating the rape of a minor in Male’ City.

A police media official confirmed to “Sun” a case of sexual violence against a minor has been filed with the police, and that the authority is investigating the case.

“Sun” has been informed the victim of the crime is a 17-year-old female who was dragged to an isolated area and raped by two men as she waited outside her college last Tuesday night.

The girl was taken to the Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital for treatment.
