Phone confiscated after man threatens President Yameen

Maldives Police Service has confiscated the phone of a person after he made threats against the President, Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. 

After the Criminal Court issued a court order yesterday, Police confiscated the phone of 32-year-old Mohamed Adham from Laamu Gan. 

Police also conducted a seach of his apartment. The court order said that the search was in relation to the threats Mohamed Adham made against President Yameen on 25 June 2018 via Twitter. 

 

His will be confiscated for 15 days.
