A woman suffered extensive injuries in an accident which took place in H. Dh. Nolhivaranfaru last Friday night.
The woman injured in the accident has been identified as a 34-year-old.
A family member who spoke to “Sun” said the accident took place at approximately 7:30 pm in the Nolhivaranfaru harbor area.
The family member said the woman was on the back of her husband’s motorcycle when it was hit by another motorcycle going at high speed.
The woman suffered extensive injuries, including head trauma.
“About a two-inch area on the back of her head is crushed in,” said the family member.
The family member said the woman also has a four-inch long cut extending from her calf which is bone-deep, and injuries to her right-hand shoulder and left-hand elbow.
The woman is being treated at the H. Dh. Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital, and her condition is reported to be non-life threatening.
