It is important that all those responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for the children who are the future of this country fulfill their duties properly, said Ahmed Siyam Mohamed, Member of Parliament for Dh. Meedhoo Constituency and President of the Maldives Development Alliance (MDA).
Siyam, who is known for his long-standing philanthropic and humanitarian work, especially initiatives supporting children and families, said the tragedies should prompt reflection and stronger safety measures.
Siyam speaks after two children died in two tragic incidents on the same day, today. Nine-year-old Zeeva Sinaan Ahmed passed away on Tuesday morning following the deadly accident near Vinares-7 in Hulhumale' on Saturday night. Then a two-year-old girl died also on Tuesday, after falling from a STELCO tower, also in Hulhumale'.
In a post on social media, Siyam said he was shocked and deeply saddened by the abrupt loss of two beautiful children.
“I pray to Allah to grant the families of these children the patience to endure this profound grief, and to bless their young souls with the eternal peace and mercy of Paradise. Aameen”, Ahmed Siyam Mohamed, President of MDA.
Siyam said it is vital for all those responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment for the infants who represent the future of this nation to learn lessons from such heartbreaking incidents. He also prayed that Allah grant everyone the strength to do so.
