President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has conferred the National Award for Public Service on 66 individuals for decades of dedicated public service.
The badge of honor, shield and certificate was presented to them during an official ceremony on Sunday morning to mark the Maldives’ 61st Independence Day.
The National Award for Public Service recognizes the competence, integrity, and dedication of government employees who have served the state for more than 35 years, and made significant contributions to the development of their respective institutions.
Sunday’s recipients were individuals who rendered more than 41 years of service to the state, but had not previously received recognition.
The National Awards Committee, mandated with vetting and selecting recipients for the National Awards, oversaw the selection of this year’s award winners.
