Police tow three motorcycles for 30 days for dangerous speeding on Sinamale' Bridge

Three motorcyclists have been penalised for speeding and driving in a manner that caused fear and danger to the public.

A video circulating on social media shows four motorcycles racing along the Sinamale' Bridge highway, with three riders lying flat on their bikes while travelling at high speed.

Police said in a statement on Saturday that three of the motorcycles have been taken into custody for 30 days. However, the police did not specify whether the riders were fined.

Dangerous speeding has led to serious accidents in the past, including fatalities, most of them involving young people.

According to police statistics, traffic accidents are the second-highest category of reported cases this year, after theft. A total of 1,751 traffic accident cases have been reported so far.
