Sun Siyam Media (SS Media) has been appointed the official media partner for the Alimas Jubilee celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of B. Hithaadhoo School.
The partnership agreement was signed by SS TV Chief Content Officer Mohamed Zaheen on behalf of SS Media, and Island Council President Haafiz Khaalid on behalf of Hithaadhoo.
Under the agreement, SS Media will cover and broadcast the school’s Alimas Jubilee activities across its various platforms, including special features highlighting key events and stories from the island. A dedicated SS TV team is also scheduled to travel to Hithaadhoo to provide on-ground coverage.
Zaheen said SS Media was honoured to support a milestone that celebrates decades of educational service. “SS Media is proud to participate in such an important event celebrating 75 years in the field of education,” he said.
Hithaadhoo School began its anniversary activities on July 7 with the launch of the Alimas Jubilee logo and the introduction of new media platforms. A blood donation programme was also held with the participation of island officials and parents.
Zeeba Atho Mohamed, a senior student and leader of the school’s Jubilee task force, told Sun that numerous island-level activities are underway to commemorate the anniversary. These include island clean-ups, school beautification efforts, and preparations for a time capsule containing photos and historical information. The capsule will be buried on the school grounds and marked with a monument, to be opened on the school’s 100th anniversary.
The school has also highlighted several infrastructure needs, including additional classrooms, a multipurpose hall and improved teaching facilities. As part of the Jubilee, the island plans to construct a prayer hall on the school premises as the final activity of the celebrations.
