Evening commute turns tragic as motorcycle-lorry collision claims a life in Male'

A man died after being injured in a collision between a motorcycle and a lorry in front of Usfasgandu, the beachfront public space on the southeastern edge of Male' City, on Sunday late afternoon.

The man who sustained injuries in the accident was pronounced dead upon arrival at IGM Hospital.

The incident was reported to police at 15:57 pm on Sunday.

The accident occurred at a time when many people were traveling to Hulhumale' after office hours.

The collision caused significant traffic disruption as this is a main road also used for bus services.

Police said they are investigating the incident. Further information will be shared as soon as it becomes available.
