The waiting area of Ilaaj Institute, a private educational institute, officially accredited by the Maldives Qualifications Authority.
For the first time in the Maldives, Ilaaj Institute is offering a “Certificate III in Wet Cupping Treatment (Hijama).”
Last year, Ilaaj Hijama and Alternative Medical Services became the first Ministry of Health-approved cupping service provider in the country. The new program, scheduled for August this year, aims to train wet cupping technicians.
Wet cupping, commonly known as Hijama, has been practiced since ancient times. The program aims to equip students with the knowledge, practical training, and professional skills required to perform cupping safely.
The course will be taught in Dhivehi and runs for 15 weeks. The cupping components will be taught by experienced cupping therapists, while the medical modules will be delivered by qualified health professionals.
The program is accredited by the Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA) and recognized by the Maldives Allied Health Council. Graduates will therefore be eligible to register as a “Wet Cupping Technician” with the Allied Health Council.
For more information or to submit a participation form, interested individuals may contact the institute through its social media pages. Inquiries can also be made by calling 4009555 between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm, or via WhatsApp/Viber at 9299555 at any time.
