Hiththan Maizan reopens with children's playground and food trucks

Hiththan Maizan has been reopened after being upgraded with a children’s playground and dedicated food truck area.  

The square was closed for repairs in 2024.  

A large protected tree remains at the centre of the space, with the square developed around it.  

The reopened area now includes a play corner for children, inviting families to spend quality outdoor time in a safe and pleasant environment.  

Food trucks have also been placed in the square, offering takeaway options for visitors.  

In 2023, the Male' City Council began developing recreational squares across different parts of the capital as part of its efforts to make streets and public spaces more comfortable and attractive.
