The Prosecutor General’s Office says it issued 552 advisories to investigating agencies last April.
According to statistics released on Thursday, the office had provided 552 recommendations to investigative bodies as of April. In the same period, prosecutors filed 232 charges in court and accepted 190 cases. Lawyers also attended 2,710 hearings, the office said.
It is noteworthy that an audit of prosecutorial work carried out between 2018 and 2021 found that the Prosecutor General’s Office did not regularly review Criminal Court remand orders for suspects detained pending trial.
The government has since stated that it is working to identify a legal remedy to address the issue.

The Prosecutor General’s Office has also introduced cost‑cutting measures as part of the national effort to mitigate the economic impact of the Middle East conflict. The office has designated Tuesdays as work‑from‑home days for staff until the end of this month, shifted official meetings online, and shortened public service hours.
However, prosecutors will continue to attend court hearings in person, including formal meetings that cannot be conducted online or where virtual participation may adversely affect proceedings, the office said.
