Statistics released by the Prosecutor General’s (PG) Office show that a total of 228 cases were accepted during June, representing a significant 59.4 percent increase compared to the number of cases accepted in May.

According to data published by the Office on Sunday, 265 cases were submitted for prosecution before various courts during June, marking a marginal increase from the 263 cases filed in May.

The participation of legal counsel from the PG Office in court proceedings also recorded an increase during the period. While prosecutors attended 1,150 hearings in May, the figure rose to 1,207 hearings in June.

A significant rise was also recorded in "duty prosecution" services, through which legal guidance is provided to investigative authorities. The PG Office provided advice on 683 cases in June, reflecting a 52.7 percent increase from the 447 cases handled in May.

The Prosecutor General’s Office stated that it remains focused on improving and streamlining its operational efficiency. As part of these efforts, specialised prosecution teams have been established to provide dedicated assistance to investigative authorities handling specific categories of cases.

The PG Office also continues to work with relevant institutions to address challenges in case submissions and facilitate the timely resolution of cases within the criminal justice system.
