The Bank of Maldives (BML) on Wednesday opened applications for the Bank Fund 2026, an annual grant program designed to support non-governmental organizations across the Maldives to deliver sustainable, community-focused projects.
Launched by the national bank in 2024, the Bank Fund will award MVR 200,000 each to five selected projects under the thematic pillars of education, environment, sports and community development.
NGOs, clubs and associations registered in Maldives can submit their application forms and proposals via email to [email protected] by 02:00 pm June 14.
BML states that the initiative reaffirms the bank’s long-standing commitment to fostering inclusive growth and strengthening civil society throughout the country.
Commenting on the initiative, BML’s CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef said that the BML firmly believes that lasting progress is built from the ground up.
“The Bank Fund reflects our dedication to enabling local organizations to turn their innovative ideas into tangible benefits for their communities,” he said. “We are proud to see the meaningful difference this fund has already made and look forward to supporting another cohort of impactful, sustainability-driven initiatives in 2026.”
Since its launch in 2024, the Bank Fund has supported nine NGOs in carrying out diverse projects that address local needs.
Additional information, including the application forms, are available on BML’s website.
